The Rock Store is probably the most famous motorcycle stop in Southern California, and has been the location for many movies, ads, and magazine photos. Take this trip on a Sunday, as that's the day you'll see the bikes there (the Rock Store is closed on weekdays)
It is located in the Santa Monica mountains, on Mulholland Highway (not Drive - that's a different road) in the township of Cornell (see the map above). The reason that the Rock Store has become a stop for motorcyclists is because of the many and varied roads that snake through the hills. My favorite way of getting there is as follows:
Get to the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway (Route 1) and Topanga Boulevard, near Malibu (take the 10 freeway west and keep going - I'm serious - the 10 starts on the East Coast of America!). Continue west about 4 miles and turn right on Las Flores road (careful, it's a small side street). Go up the hill :) and turn right on to Rambla Pacifico road. Continue on this road (it changes it's name to Piuma Road after a bit), enjoy the scenery! Don't forget to stop here:

Back to the ride.....
If you continue on Piuma Road you'll get to Malibu Canyon Road. Turn right and a few miles later, turn left onto Mulholland Highway. Stay on this road for a few miles, and keep an eye out for a bunch of bikes parked in front of a general store/burger joint. This is the Rock Store.
